Las Vegas strike update: union reaches tentative deal

The Culinary Union of Las Vegas has finally reached a tentative agreement with two of the main casino operators facing threats of a citywide strike involving nearly 50,000 employees. The Union, which represents the workers of the Vegas’s casino-hotel and hospitality sector, came to initial terms with Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International after employee contracts expired at midnight May 31. The Union will now be focusing its attention on negotiations of new contracts with the 15 smaller properties that remain along the Vegas Strip and downtown areas not included in Friday’s landmark agreement.
