The unions are also asking for new safety protections for all workers, including mandatory room checks and more security personnel to track criminal behavior by customers. Aretha Wilder, a cocktail server working for Caesars' Flamingo casino, said safety has been a major concern on the Strip, especially after the Oct. 1, 2017, mass shooting that killed 58 people and injured hundreds. Wilder added that guests' behavior has also worsened since the pandemic, according to the unions' statement.
